In the I askd the
Justice if it was the Custom
of the Country for Strangers to
travel
. He at first
s:d yes, but after

it might not be so well, & that we
were welcome to stay with Him 'till
& ask me to go to Church
with Him which I did. By the way
He offerd us to instruct His
Negroes & s:d
He could get us His
Fathers also, but after Church was
Over He told the Minister & many
others my Buisiness & by the way
back again I found Him to be a little
Cooler with me, & when we began to
speak to him about it in the
He spoke against it, but s.d He would
call all His Negroes together, that
we might talk with them. so B.rChristian spoke to one of them & askd
him a few questions & afterwards
spoke to Him very Heartily, about
the love of our Saviour in dying
for us. I also spoke a little but the
