Mission Statement

The mission of A Fever for Heiter is to improve the quality of life for Lewisburg children who spend a large amount of their time at the Donald Heiter Community Center by fixing up the center’s kitchen area.  In order to create a lasting impact, our primary objectives are to install new flooring in the kitchen and to provide a fully functional, relatively new fridge.  Any excess revenues from the sale of our business product will be put toward renovations of the cabinets or painting the walls of the kitchen.  We consider it vital to connect with our young stakeholders, so a commitment has been made to fund and host a week of international snacks for the children during their daily snack time.  For funding, we hope to tap the Bucknell student body by seizing on senses of humor and current events in selling inexpensive swine flu themed t-shirts.  These shirts will be sold in the LC mall during lunch because of the high amount of student activity then.  With the spike in recent cases of the H1N1 flu virus (Swine Flu) we believe students will relate to the shirts and therefore find them appealing.
