How to Use this Disc

This disc contains at least one picture of the principal building on each tax parcel (building lot) in the Historic District of Lewisburg.  It aspires, thus, to be a complete photographic inventory of the principal building on each tax parcel in the Historic District of Lewisburg.

Starting with the Street Index (to the left), users interested in a particular building can bring up that building’s Structure page, which includes its picture, by selecting the building’s street, and then house number.   A person who wishes to compare buildings of a particular architectural style or study buildings along a particular street can select and examine various pages as appropriate.  For other uses, including research possibilities, see Section 2 (“This Database, Present and Future”) on the Project Homepage.

Lewisburg is a living community and is never static.  Within the oversight of the Lewisburg Borough Council, its Historical Architectural Review Board (HARB), and other local agencies, owners maintain, refurbish, repair, and improve their properties.  The photos here present how the buildings looked at one recent point in time, between 2005 and 2008.  However, no one should expect that the architectural heritage of Lewisburg will always look the same as it does now.  Rather, the community's goal is to protect and nurture Lewisburg’s architectural heritage, but not to imprison it.
