Studies of Central Eurasian environmental politics often lack adequate foundational environmental science understanding.  Likewise, scientific studies of the region may be used to make policy recommendations unconnected to political realities. It is important for social scientists to understand the long-term ecological dynamics driving environmental change in the region in order to improve predictions of societal impact and recommendations for appropriate governmental action.  This section provides social science students and scholars with a bibliography listing relevant studies of environmental conditions, including works on the following topics: regional climatic change, glacial decline, and alpine watershed hydrology. The section also provides a short glossary of key terms found in some of the material and will eventually provide article annotations and analysis of these issues.  Additional relevant regional environmental condition information and topics will be added as the site develops.
